The return of Public Worship
Dear Parishioners,
I am pleased to be able to say that from Saturday 5th September we begin the gradual reintroduction of public worship in our parish. It will be great to be able to celebrate Mass again with members of our congregation, but unfortunately numbers present have to be strictly limited. With the resumption of public Masses parishes have had to choose how they control the number of people at Mass, how those people move around the church and how you are contacted if it is discovered that a case of Covid-19 has been to any of the Masses. Details of how many places are available and how to book a place will be published later.
The Government maintains that the 2m social distancing requirements should be applied where possible.
In the case of our churches, this would mean
1. The compulsory wearing of a face covering for members of the congregation, unless they are exempt from doing so. This is for the good of all who gather in the Church for Mass as it is an enclosed public space where there are people from differing households who they do not normally meet.
2. Worshippers should limit their interactions with anyone they are not attending church with, i.e. if they are attending corporate worship with one other household, wherever possible they should maintain social distancing with anyone outside of this group.
The Sunday obligation remains suspended so please don’t panic if you cannot get to a Sunday Mass.
Mass times:-
St David’s: Saturday 5pm and Sunday 11.15am
Our Lady of the Angels: Sunday 9.30am
Meeting for Volunteers
A meeting will be held on Tuesday 1st September at 6.30pm in Our Lady of the Angels Church for volunteers who are willing to act as stewards in both churches. If you are unable to attend the meeting but are willing to be a steward please contact Canon John
